Garden of Eden
Danish Christiane Spangsberg is self-taught and has within a few years created a distinctive body of abstract paintings and one-line drawings exhibited in sold out solo shows in Paris, Sydney, London and New York. She is currently working on her newest exhibition Garden of Eden opening in Copenhagen 25th of August.
The exhibition is based on the story of Adam and Eve and tries to explore the history of the fall. Within Christianity, Eve is said to be responsible for the fall because she tempted Adam to take a bite of the forbidden fruit. For many years women were therefore seen as the first sinners, and considered to be evil. In this exhibition Christianes aim is to give a new perspective on this creation myth. The exhibition includes new medium works on linen and a small collection of ceramics.
